Samantha Kingston has seven days to relieve the day of her death. What ended up being the last day of her life was supposed to be the best day ever. She had it all. The friends. The boyfriend. The popularity. But the car accident changed her life – literally. After a while, Sam takes advantage of the seven days she has left. She does things she never did before; talks to people she’s never even took a second glance at. But in the end, Sam realized that she wasn’t granted these seven days to save her life, but to save someone else’s.
I loved this book. There is no other way to say it. I love it. This book has so many different messages that you have to uncover. My favorite was: “Don’t live life with your eyes closed”. At least that’s what I got out of it, and I think that’s the best thing you can say to anyone. This book is a must-read!
So, have any of you read this book? What did you think of it? Are there any other hidden messages that you picked up on? Comment!
Where do I start on this movie?
I cannot believe Chris Columbus, who directed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, directed this movie. I am so surprised. I first saw this movie without reading the book, and I thought it was pretty good. But now that I’ve read the book, I realized the movie is kind of horrible.
This movie doesn’t stay even close to the plot of the book. In the book, Percy is twelve and in sixth grade. In the movie, he looks at least sixteen or seventeen and can drive a car.
Basically, the main plot was changed. Instead of Percy going on a quest to get Zeus’s lightning bolt from Hades and save his mom while doing so, he sneaks out of Camp Half-Blood to find his mom and just “happens” to find the lightning bolt along the way. It annoyed me how he was just like a sixteen year old kid crying for his mom the whole time. At least in the book he said how much his mom meant to him and all that.
Overall, I didn’t like the take on this movie. I suggest that if you’ve read the book, that you don’t even bother watching this movie. It is nothing like the book, and it will aggravate you to no end.
If you haven’t read and don’t plan on reading the book, watch this movie, because it will make no difference to you.
Percy Jackson isn’t your average teenage boy. He’s a demigod and his father is a Greek god – who he believed to be a myth. His life is spinning out of control. Greek monsters are appearing all over New York. Once Grover, a satyr who is Percy’s protector, takes him to Camp Half Blood, Percy discovers that the people of Mt. Olympus believe that he has stolen Zeus’s master lightning bolt. Percy sets out of a journey along with Grover and Athena’s daughter Annabeth, to find the lightning bolt before a war starts within Mt. Olympus. But along the way, Percy will discover someone is not who he says he is.
I really, really liked this book. I think the Greek gods are really interesting, and to have them brought to life in a modern-day story is really cool! Rick Riordan’s idea was so original! I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series.
My Rating: 4 stars
I was really interested to see how this book was brought to life in this movie. I thought it was pretty good. Dakota Fanning did the voice for Coraline. I really thought it was interesting how the director, Henry Selick, made Coraline a kind of animated claymation movie. There were only a few minor changes, but they really didn’t affect the plot of the story. Overall, this movie was just right. But I suggest you read the book first before you see it, because the book will help you understand some things throughout the movie and, of course, the book is always better!
Coraline is a strange little girl. And what’s even stranger is the new house she lives in. In her drawing room, there is a small little door that leads to a totally reversed universe. There, Coraline meets her other mother and other father who treat her so much better than her own parents do. They actually pay attention to her, make her real food for dinner and make her life fun. But when Coraline discovers that her other mother and the world she created isn’t everything she thought it was, she must find a way out.
Overall, I thought this book was really interesting. I think Neil Gaiman is a genius. I loved the idea of the other parents and the button eyes. I would have never expected the button eyes. Coraline’s other mother makes anyone who reads this appreciate their real parents.

In the third Pretty Little Liars book, the four girls are still dealing with their secrets. Emily’s family will not accept who she is. Hanna’s gross secret of how she changed her looks is revealed to the public. Aria and Mr. Fitz get into a not-so-good-situation that cannot be undone and her family is still a mess. And Spencer is dealing with that fact that she could possibly be Ali’s murderer. But in the end, when everyone thinks they’ve got everything all figured out, “A” changes everything.
I loved this book, like I loved all the previous Pretty Little Liars books. The end of this book is a huge cliffhanger! I need the next book, or I will not survive! Hahaha. Have any of you guys read the Pretty Little Liars books or plan on reading them? Tell me what you think!
I remember when I first started blogging back in October of 2009.
I really can’t believe it’s only been nine months.
Back then this website was just something I did for fun, like a hobby. My dad actually suggested the idea. I love books, so why not make a website about them? And believe it or not, I wasn’t going to do it. My posts were so short in the beginning. They were about four to five sentences and told you basically nothing about the book or what I thought about it. I updated maybe once or twice a week.
A lot has changed since then. My website is not only a hobby; it is part of my life. I love it so much. My posts are more frequent and definitely lengthier. I try to update as frequently as I possibly can, which is basically every two or three days at the least. I remember how excited I was when I found out that my website comes up on Google, Yahoo and Bing when you search things like “teen book blog” or “book blog for teens”. Also, some people have found my website and asked me to review their books, someone asked me to write for his website, and an author of a book I reviewed, Katie Alender, commented on my post & is going to link me on her website.
But most of all, I want to thank my fellow booknerdbloggers. All those people out there, who comment on my new book reviews, vote in my polls and are a fan of my Facebook page. Thank you so much, it means so much to me. I am glad that you all love books as much as I do!
This is only my 100th post and I hope for a lot more in the future!

The girls are back and they’re all keeping secrets. Ali’s death still haunts them. Hanna is having trouble dealing with the past, her father and her image. Emily is having a hard time accepting who she is. Spencer still wants her sister’s ex-fiancé and wants to be better than her. And Aria still wants Mr. Fitz and wishes her family was back to normal. But when A’s threats get worse and worse, how can anything return to normal? They’ve all got secrets. Who is A? How does she know all of these secrets? And just when you think you know who A is, everything changes.
Once again, this is another amazing book in the Pretty Little Liars series. I am totally addicted. I really want to find out more about Ali and A. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
My Rating: 4 stars
As I’m sure you all know the next movie to the Twilight Saga, “Eclipse”, came out today, June 30th. And I was lucky enough to be able to see it on the first day it came out.
This movie was really good, better than I thought it would be. I didn’t expect it to be that great, truthfully. But it actually was! Eclipse was my favorite book out of the series, and this was definitely the best movie so far!
Also, I think the main actors Kristin Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner all work together really well. And there were actually some funny moments that actually had me laughing. Oh, and remember the new “Victoria” in the movie? She actually did a good job. I totally liked the old Victoria better, but this one lived up to expectations. The army of newborns was really good and there was a bunch of fight scenes between the Cullens and werewolves and the newborn vampires.
Eclipse the movie was basically dead-on the books. There were actually some direct quotes from the book in the movie, so I was really happy about that. The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t put in this Jacob quote: “The clouds I can handle. But I can’t fight an eclipse.” I think that basically was the point for the title, but I guess they couldn’t fit it in anywhere.
So overall, I really liked this movie and I suggest you go see it!
