So the main character of this book, Ever Bloom, lost her mom, dad and younger sister to a freakish car accident. The accident left a huge scar on her forehead. And, after the accident, Ever discovers that she can see people’s auras, read minds, see her dead sister and know someone’s whole life by one touch. She moves to live with her dad’s sister and when she finally gets settled into her new life, a mysterious, gorgeous new guy moves to her town and attends her school. The one weird thing is that her powers don’t work on him.
Okay, so I’m sure you’re thinking: what’s not to love? This book sounds good!
Yes, I thought the main idea was good, the whole aura-seeing and mind reading thing. But it was just too Harry Potter and Twilight mix for me. I couldn’t get past the first hundred pages. The scar: Harry Potter, dead family: Harry Potter. Mysterious guy who somehow blocks Ever’s powers: kind of like Twilight but reversed.
Maybe one day I’ll try reading it again, but not soon.
