The Pink Sweater

Hey everyone!
As it was said in the article from my school’s newspaper, I have been working on a short story to publish as an e-book. Well, right now, you can purchase my short story titled: “The Pink Sweater”, for $0.99 at Amazon.com
for the Amazon Kindle. Right here. The Barnes and Noble Nook version avaliable right here. If you don’t have a Kindle or a Nook, you can download a free e-reader here.

In a haze of alcohol, Scarlet James cannot remember what happened after the spontaneous party on that rainy Sunday night. All she knows is that Clare Munro died in a terrible car accident. While everyone else is mourning the loss of a great student and friend, Scarlet is dealing with an internal battle.
What would you do if you killed someone?

I would really appreciate it if all you Kindle and Nook users read my short story. I hope you enjoy it!

-Bri

Thank you all so much! It really means a lot. I’m so glad you like my blog and my short story.
“The Pink Sweater” is basically about a girl in high school who accidentally killed someone in a car accident. She doesn’t remember what happens and as the story goes along, we see what she has to deal with as she figures out what she did.
I originally wrote this story for a project in my Journalism class back in October of 2010. I was supposed to write a horror/suspense/mystery story. It actually wasn’t that hard to write. I wrote it in less than a day. This isn’t based on something that happened in my life, it is completely fictional.
The cover photograph is a picture I took myself. I named this story “The Pink Sweater” because a pink sweater is kind of the key element in the story and what helps the “mystery” become solved. I’m not sure why I chose the color pink, it was just the first color that came to mind. I thought it sounded good too. It has a nice ring to it.
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, ever since I was eight and started reading the Harry Potter books. I wanted to be just like J.K. Rowling. This short story is just my first step to getting a real novel published.
Once again, thank you all so much for all the nice comments. I’m so glad you like my short story. I’m currently thinking of new ideas for another short story hopefully to be written this summer and published in the fall. Keep an eye open for it!
