Gone by Michael Grant

My Rating: 5 stars

Could you imagine if one day, all of a sudden, everyone over the age of fourteen just vanished? No teachers, no parents. No police officers or doctors. Just the young: toddlers, teens and middle schoolers. Also, there are no phones, and no internet and TV. There is absolutely no way to get help. Then a wall, a barrier, called the FAYZ, surrounds a twenty mile radius around the nuclear power plant outside Perdido Beach. Kids are developing weird powers, and animals are mutating. Oh, and one other thing, on the day you turn fifteen, you disappear forever, like everyone else.
Sam, and his friends Astrid, Quinn and Edilio have to deal with the kids from Coates Academy, who all want to take over and rule the FAYZ region. Will Sam be able to defeat them?
I thought this book was kind of absolutely amazing. The idea was totally original, I would have never thought of it myself. This book is filled with completely unexpected moments, and strong characters. Definitely a book you need to read. I can’t wait to read the next book!
