Welcome to My Book Blog!

Hey there! My name is Bri. I’m eighteen and a senior in high school. I’m copy editor for my school newspaper and an aspiring author/journalist.
In my reviews of young adult novels, you’ll find my rating (five stars is the highest, one is the lowest), a summary and my opinion of the book that was read. Reviews of movies, tv shows, and music can also be found here.
You can follow booknerdblog.com on Facebook and on Twitter and read my short story ebook “The Pink Sweater” on Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble Nook.

Hey,
This is an awesome idea for a blog. I always find myself come across books and when I try to find out what they’re about, I never have any luck.

=D If you want to read and review another book it’s called The Hourglass Door. It is really awesome, and there’s a squeal coming out as well.

Happy Reading!

I’ll put the Hourglass Door on the list to read! Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey bri! i’ve commented a lot today (: but i wanted to give you some suggestions (even though i know you probably have a lot to read already) but these books are some of my absolute favorites.
The Guardians of Time Series by Marianne Curley
The Named
The Dark
The Key

The Named
Imagine you were able to change the past. By altering one tiny thing you could start a chain of catastrophic events… Ethan is Named – he has the ability to travel back in time, where he must use his special skills to try and intercept the dark forces intent on unravelling history. But Ethan is also a normal schoolboy, and leading a single life with a double identity is becoming just too much to handle, especially when even the normal part is getting more and more complicated. (i got that summary off the internet)

Old Magic by: Marianne Curley
Kate is at a loss. She meets a boy with extraordinary powers and a bizarre family history that can be traced back to the Middle Ages. But Jarrod doesn’t believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has supernatural powers that need to be harnessed, he doesn’t take her seriously, and only puts up with her “hocus pocus” notions because he finds her captivating.

However, the dangerous, uncontrolled strengthening of his gift finally convinces Jarrod that he must take Kate’s theories seriously. Together, they embark on a remarkable journey – one which will unravel the mystery that has hung over Jarrod’s family for generations and finds them pitted against immense forces in a battle to undo the past and reshape the future. (i got that summary off google (:)

What’s awesome about these books is that the author is australian, so you read a lot of different phrases and different spellings and i always think that’s awesome

Thank you so, sooooo much for commenting, Tierney!
I actually read Old Magic about a year ago, and I am thinking about reading it again so I can write a review. I remember that it was really, really good!
And thanks for the book suggestions! I’ll put them on my list to read also! They sound awesome!

Yes, Harry Potter is a very good series, but I think “best” is going a little too far. Personally, I have read way too many books to have a favorite series.

Comment from bri

I have read a lot of other series too, but I feel that Harry Potter just stands out as my favorite.
It has always been a big part of my life and will always have an influence on me and I feel like that’s all that really matters.

Hello Bri, as a fellow nerd I have recently started a website for all nerds to be welcome. You’re invited!(well, everyone nerdy is) I’m actually scouring the web for two things currently, interesting nerds, and people who can help the community grow. You fit both. I’d like to ask for you help with making the community grow, by either just making a few posts there, or even if you’re feeling extra nice, giving a link back on your blog roll. If you decide to help, I give you my greatest thanks. If you decide not to, I still thank you for the time you took to read this and hope you have a wonderful day. Hi,

Have you read the Residue Series by Laury Falter? It is a pre-teen series with two books out now. It is a wonderful adventure of a teenage witch finding out her true identity and coming to terms with it. She is also a strong-minded and independent girl – which is a good thing when there is so much pressure on girls to conform. It’s fun and fast-paced also!
